We have been pushing the envelope into new territories with multiple cameras and new ways to tell stories in the live space, but today, it was just as much about sound… if not all about sound. DYSON performed acoustic versions of some of her up and coming releases…. which at least one of we would bet on, will be a massive billboard hit (and it wouldn’t be fair for us to bet on it knowing who her team is).
DYSON pushed the limits with her vocals and sounded so great we thought we should share it with you on LinkedIn, as it really shows another layer to what is possible with Facebook Live. With “over half of Americans watching a live stream for the first time in 2016”, – eMarketer, this medium is one of the fastest growing forms of communication in recent history. His testimony turns into prophecy the moment you hear the voice of DYSON, so it’s no wonder the U.K. native has gained noteworthy performance requests (Amber Rose’s SlutWalk 2016, various Pride events/TigerHeat, corporate events, etc.), radio and Spotify playlists additions (including both P3 and MP3 in Scandinavia and ElectroNOW Spotify’s biggest EDM playlist) and highprofile, industry supporters (Rodney Jerkins, Perez Hilton, Dave Aude, Martin Kierszenbaum, Evan Lamberg, Donna Caseine and Randy Jackson, for example). And all done in only a few, short months after releasing her debut singles, “Up All Night” and the Sander Kleinenberg collaboration “Feel Like Home”.
DYSON started singing and writing songs at five years old, setting her on a course that led to her signing with music publishing titan UMPG: a mutually rewarding partnership that has enjoyed multiplatinum successes in the AsiaPacific and European markets with megastars like Girls’ Generation (“Bad Girl”), Jo Kwon (the Avicci produced “Animal”), Astrid S (“Paper Thin”) and Wiktoria (“Save Me”). “I love turning stories into songs,” she says, “but I always knew I had this other gift hidden deep inside… This other person. I just never told anyone.”
Well, that was until she found herself collaborating with A2!, the multiplatinum selling production duo comprised of Grammywinner Andre Lindal and Anthony Preston, who saw that hidden treasure and jumped at the chance to sign her to an artist development and production deal. “There’s something magical that happens when we’re together creating. And, they’re awesome at what they do,” DYSON says of her musical mentors. “They’ve taught me that music is expression first and that when you have something real to say, you can’t go wrong.”
And, becoming a global messenger is something she’s ready to do. In addition to A2!, her dynamic project features collaborations with various multiplatinum selling and/or Grammy winning producers, writers and musicians including Giorgio Tuinfort, William Orbit, Abraham Laboriel, will.i.am, Phil Bentley, Lauren Christy, Rodney Jerkins and Jodie Harsh. And, armed with a few musical “monsters”, Dyson marches onwards to becoming a Top 40, multigenre touring and recording artist. “The development process opened my eyes to who and what I can be, and that I just needed to learn patience and selflove. Now, I want to be an inspiration… I want to spread a message communicated in a feeling,” she says in a serious tone before cracking a coy smile “I’m just gonna sing it in a song.”
