Speakman is an innovative producer, entrepreneur and philanthropist whose experience on both sides of the camera ranges from the big screen, to the small screen and, now — the second screen. He is an Award-Winning Producer and the Founder of the KNEKT Television Network (KNEKT TV), which is available worldwide on Apple TV, Roku, iOS and Android and is focused on socially conscious programs. Examiner.com has called him “one of the most influential entrepreneurs in the entertainment industry.” He has won the iMedia Entertainment Marketing Award for “Best Digital Campaign” and “Best Mobile Entertainment Startup,” and he was awarded Evan Carmichael’s “Top 100 Entrepreneurs to Follow” in 2013 preceded by the “iMedia Top Ten Digital Marketers” in 2009. He writes for trade publications, speaks at conferences and film festivals, and engages in interviews on media outlets such as KTLA News, The Los Angeles Times, Inc. Magazine and The Huffington Post.
Speakman founded ENGAGEIA – a digital, mobile and experiential agency that works with startups, brands and entertainment properties – before he co-founded FAMEUS, a social network listed on the Huffington Post’s “Top 10 Startups in LA” in 2015, connecting members of the entertainment industry in innovative ways with a unique technology. He co-founded and excited an OTT television network, Torio.tv, where he was the executive in charge of all live entertainment production.
His experience allowed him to follow his passion for working with charities and social causes, and began to produce world class events. Speakman took the opportunity to leverage technology to connect millions of viewers around the world with these events via live-streaming. He founded KNEKT.tv as the production house behind many top charity gala’s shows, bringing A-List celebrity audiences to content that matters, live streaming concerts with artists such as Lil Wayne, ASAP Rocky, CeeLo Green and video exclusives with artists such as Drake.
Speakman has an international network of professionals and influencers, having orchestrated a variety of film and technology projects in Canada, the U.S., the United Kingdom, Asia and India. He has produced hundreds of events across Canada and the U.S., while working with clientele ranging from A-List celebrities, to tech startups. He leverages his connections to unite organizations with the right partners – connecting the dots others may overlook to take projects from concept to completion, while building an attentive audience along the way.
